For your registration fee, it only includes entrance fee in Camp N, fee for the race, and race plates and bib for your bike and jersey.
Who are the Event Sponsors?
The Juana Race? is a Camp N event powered by Specialized and Dan’s Bike Shop.
The Ten Juana Rules:
Juana Rule 1: Open to non-professional female riders from 8 to 98 years old, or for that matter, those who joined mountain bike races before but were there for fun and not exactly for the podium.
Juana Rule 2: Mountain Bikes are herein described as — two-wheeled, self-propelled, fun means of transport that can tackle trails or any terrain with knobby tires (slick tires not allowed) of which both brakes must be working well. Bar ends in the handle bars must have a snug fit. Not allowed are those types of bars used in road bikes like drop or aero bars. Gravel bikes not allowed — yet.
Juana Rule 3: Helmets. Protect your most valuable asset – the head. No helmet, absolutely no ride. Of course, having gloves to protect your hands, pads for elbows and knees, eye protection, fully enclosed shoes and lots of sun block will go a long way!
Juana Rule 4: Registered participants must sign in before their actual event. For minors whose age is 16 years or younger by March 26, parents or legal guardians must sign in for them.
Juana Rule 5: Official race plate must be displayed in front of the bike, tied to the handlebar for quick identification. Race bib should be attached at the back of the jersey.
Juana Rule 6: Participants must be at the starting line at least ten minutes before their schedule event.
Juana Rule 7: Juana’s of all ages must finish the required number of laps per category. No short-cuts, no by-passes are allowed. Marshals shall be deployed in each stage, any violations shall be grounds for disqualification.
Juana Rule 8: For the Juana Challenges Juan Category, rules are:
o Open only to male riders, once again – for non-professionals only.
o Must be between 18 to 50 years of age
o Has not participated in any race for the last three months
o And must be willing to be humiliated in case a female rider finishes ahead of them!
Juana Rule 9: For the Specialized Challenge the rules are:
o Open only to female participants who will use (owned, or rented) a Specialized bike
o Ages 18 till 98
Juana Rule 10: The most important – is to have fun and get to know your fellow racers. Special prize goes to the participant who can memorize the names of all other racers in their event!
